GREENWOOD, Ind. - After excelling academically and athletically during the 2024-25 school year, junior pitcher
Sadie Leonard of the Williams College softball team earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team honors for the second consecutive season.
The 2025 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by the College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Leonard, who is majoring in psychology/women's, gender & sexuality studies, was named to the Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete Team in three straight seasons from 2023-25. The Tiburon, California, native was also recognized on the NESCAC All-Academic Team in 2024 and 2025.

During the 2025 season, Leonard led the NESCAC in ERA (1.11), strikeouts (255), strikeouts looking (49) and opponents' batting average (.141). Additionally, the complete student-athlete was named NFCA Division III Pitcher of the Week on April 1 and 8.
They are a three-time NFCA All-American, earning First Team honors in 2024 and 2025 and Second Team laurels during the 2023 season. Leonard garnered NFCA All-Region IÂ First Team laurels in 2023, 2024 and 2025, while being named to the All-Conference First Team and Pitcher of the Year in each of those three seasons. During the 2023 season, they were was named the NESCAC's Co-Rookie of the Year.
Leonard is a 10-time recipient of the NESCAC's Pitcher of the Week award. They were a focal point on the 2024 team that went 3-0 during the NCAA Division III Regional at Husson University in Bangor, Maine, advancing to the Super Regional for the first time since the 2019 season against eventual national champion East Texas Baptist in Marshall, Texas.
The Ephs won the NESCAC Championship in 2023 and 2024 and qualified for three straight NCAA Tournaments from 2023-25. During Leonard's time at Williams, the squad has compiled a 77-44 overall record and a 36-16 mark in the highly competitive NESCAC.
During the 2023 season, the rookie led all Division III softball student-athletes in strikeouts per seven innings (11.8). One year later, Leonard once again ranked first in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (12.4) and fewest hits per seven innings (2.85).
The outstanding pitcher ranks first, second and third, respectively, inside the program's record book in single-season strikeouts with 267 in 2025, 257 in 2023 and 192 in 2024. They are also first in career strikeouts (716), shutouts (18) and ERA (1.02), while sitting atop the list in single-season wins (18, 2023) and shutouts (8, 2024). Leonard holds a career record of 48-12 in 403.1 innings of work, while holding opponents to a batting average of .140. The victories and number of innings pitched rank fifth in program history.
