MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Williams College women's tennis team wrapped up its fall competitive season with six players competing at the ITA New England Regional, hosted by Middlebury College.
The Ephs had four players in the A Draw and two in the B Draw, and three doubles teams competing in the three-day event.
In the A Draw, Mia Thomann, Ayanna Varma, and Ellie Stark all earned first-round wins before being knocked out in the round of 32, and Mia Roets had to withdraw from her first-round match.
In the B Draw, Jane Ladaga posted wins over opponents from Tufts and Babson, and Katelyn Wu had a pair of wins over Bates and Babson, and both players lost their third matches in the quarterfinals.
The doubles pairing of Varma and Thomann had a pair of wins over Tufts and Middlebury to make the quarterfinals before falling to a Babson duo, and Ladaga and Roets had a win over Nichols in their first matchup. Wu and Stark fought hard against the second-seeded team from Bowdoin in their opening match but fell 8-5.
The event was the second and final one of the fall season for the Ephs, who will play the bulk of their competitive schedule in the spring.
