FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Williams College men's golf team earned 7th place in a strong field at Farmingdale State College's Spring Invitational, held on Saturday and Sunday on the Bethpage Red Golf Course.
The Ephs carded an excellent +1 team score on Saturday, and battled through difficult conditions on Sunday to finish with a two-day score of +20. Babson College, the top team in the region, won the tournament with a +5 score on the weekend.
Jack Estrella was the standout for the Ephs, finishing with a +1 overall score and eighth place, having shot even par on Sunday, which was tied for the third-best score in the difficult weather.
Nick Smith also had a strong weekend, shooting even par on Saturday and 2-over on Sunday, while the best individual round for any Eph golfer was
Will Rich's 1-under on Saturday.
Alex Moller also helped the team score with a 1-over on Saturday.
The Ephs will return to action quickly when the team visits Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass. for the Little Three Championship on Tuesday. The team will compete in the NESCAC Championship this coming weekend, hosted by Trinity College.
