No. 4 Ephs Earn At-Large Bid into NCAA Division III Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS - The No. 4-ranked Williams College women's golf team finds itself in a familiar position, qualifying for another NCAA Division III Tournament Monday with an at-large bid and will compete on the national stage at Desert Willow Golf Resort on May 19-22 in Palm Desert, California.

The 2026 championship will consist of both team and individual competition play over 72 holes. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the top-15 teams and the top-six individuals not on advancing teams. In the team competition, the lowest four scores for each school will count in the day's total score.

The Ephs won the national championship in 2014-15 and at that time current assistant coach Bill Kangas was at the helm of the program. Since head coach Tomas Adalsteinsson took control in 2016, Williams has earned two runner-up finishes at the NCAA Championship, occurring in 2018 and 2019.

During the 2025-26 season, the Ephs have won three tournaments, including the Ann S. Batchelder Match Play Championship on Sept. 13-14, the Polar Bear Shootout on Oct. 4-5 and the Golfweek October Classic on Oct. 12-14.

Senior Euna Lee and sophomore Michelle Ding finished in a tie for second overall during the Polar Bear Shootout, while Lee also placed in a tie for second at the Northeast Invitational on April 18-19. Junior Natalie Cheong earned medalist honors during the Polar Bear Shootout and placed in a tie for second at the Golfweek October Classic.
