WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williams College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) announced its Eph of the Week awards this afternoon with first-year Jack Fabiano of the football team earning the men's honor and senior Reece Willison of the women's soccer squad garnering the women's.
A running back from Topsfield, Massachusetts, Fabiano followed up a fantastic collegiate debut by running for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 29 carries during a 19-7 victory at Colby College on Saturday. His first trip into the end zone broke a 7-7 tie in the third quarter, and his second touchdown capped a drive that lasted more than 14 minutes to seal the victory with 1:56 to play. Fabiano is the only first-year player to ever run for 100 yards or more in each of his first two games for the Ephs and leads the NESCAC in rushing yards by nearly 100 yards.
Willison buried her first goal of the season and opened the scoring in the 23rd minute during a 3-1 triumph against Amherst Saturday afternoon on Cole Field. She was also outstanding defensively throughout the game, as the Ephs limited the Mammoths to four shots on goal.
