Box Score Saratoga Springs, NY.— The Ephs (2-1-0) took on the previously unbeaten Skidmore College Thoroughbreds (3-1-0), securing a 1-0 victory. The decisive goal came from Keel Brissett, assisted by Jake Saudek. In the last 10 seconds of the first half, Nick Ranieri settled the ball at the top  of the box and ripped a shot, creating a Skidmore deflection. Saudek was there to pick up the free ball, kneeing the ball to Brissett, who hammered it into the net from 7 yards out.
 
The Birissett goal was the first conceded by Skidmore this season.
 
The Ephs had an energetic start, with their first opportunity coming in the 5th minute of play. Henry Osborn delivered a right-footed cross to Kevin Garcia Rios at the edge of the box, who headed the ball across the goal mouth to Nathan Song at the 6 yard box. Song made a strong header, but the shot was saved by Thoroughbred keeper Bobby Stratts.
 
Throughout the game, Williams did a great job pressing Skidmore, forcing the Thoroughbreds to cough up possession.
 
The Ephs attack continued in the 69th minute with Daniel Zhang finding the ball out wide on the left. He played a lofted ball across the goal to Dylan Kelemen who wrapped his foot around the ball and volleyed it just over the bar.
 
In the 77th minute, Tate Michelson took the ball out from his feet and hit a low-driven left footed shot from 25 yards wide, nicking the outside of the right post.
 
"The team did a fantastic job today in being calm on the ball against a very high pressing and organized opponent," a proud coach Steffen Siebert said.
 
Williams out shot Skidmore 17 to 5 on the day and Eph goalie Ben Diffley made two saves in recording the clean sheet,.
 
Coming up for the Ephs is a doubleheader weekend, hosting Wesleyan on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Babson on Sunday at 2 p.m. as well.
