Box Score Clinton, N.Y. - The Williams College Baseball team traveled to Hamilton College Friday to take on the Continentals. The Ephs were defeated 18-7 in the series opener.
Michael Amendola would take the mound for the Ephs through the first 4 innings. Amendola would finish the ballgame with 6 strikeouts and 6 earned runs. Jackson Sattinger took the win for Hamilton, finishing with 3 strikeouts and 2 earned runs through 3 innings.
Williams opened the scorecard after Henry Juan hit a double to right field, leading to a score from Mike Giove. Daniel Lynch would send Juan home with a single, putting Williams up 2-0.
Hamilton put 4 runs on the board in the bottom of the second. Starting the scoring for the Continentals was Gregg Kopp who scored off a sacrifice fly from Kenny Rix. Ethan Harrast would tie the game following a single from Taylor Kaufman. Kaufman and Shane Dux would add to the scoreboard following a Phil Bernstein single. Hamilton led 4-2 at the end of the second inning. Hamilton scored an additional 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth giving them a commanding 9-2 lead. Williams Cole Whitehouse would get the Ephs scoring back on track after a double from Stannard. A Sasha Palma single to center field sent Stannard home. Williams would head into the bottom of the sixth down 9-4.Â
Hamilton wasted no time and rallied in 5 more scores in the bottom of the sixth, putting the Ephs down 14-4.
Jakob Cohn would open the seventh inning with a dinger to right field. Henry Juan would also add to the scoreboard unearned, putting the score at 14-6. Hamilton batters picked up where they left off and scored another 4 runs in the bottom of the seventh. Dave Mosrie would score the game's final run, concluding in a Williams 18-7 loss.Â
