MEDFORD, MA – The Ephs were well represented on Friday at the Tufts Cupid Challenge, as two multi-event athletes from the women's track & field team competed in the pentathlon.
Livi Mazerolle and
Vivian Koles showcased their versatility across five events: the 60-meter hurdles, 800 meters, high jump, long jump, and shot put.
Livi delivered an outstanding performance, securing first place overall with a total of 3,283 points, setting a new personal record and earning the eighth-best pentathlon score in Williams history. Her stellar performance also qualified her for Division III New Englands. Vivian also put in a strong effort, finishing 12th with a total of 2,349 points.
The meet began with the 60-meter hurdles, where Livi placed third with a time of 9.67 seconds, earning 775 points, while Vivian finished eighth with a time of 10.50 seconds, scoring 621 points. In the 800 meters, Livi ran 2:29.65, finishing second and adding 697 points, while Vivian clocked 2:45.78, placing 11th and earning 508 points.
In the high jump, both Livi and Vivian cleared 1.41 meters, finishing eighth and scoring 523 points each. In the long jump, Livi secured fourth place with a jump of 4.85 meters (519 points), while Vivian placed 11th with a jump of 4.33 meters (386 points). In the shot put, Livi placed sixth with a throw of 10.06 meters (533 points), while Vivian finished 13th with a mark of 6.62 meters (311 points).
Looking ahead, both athletes will continue their preparations as they return to competition next weekend at Tufts.
