Pat Manning's 2024-25 Williams team have been honored for their performance in the classroom and on the court this season. To be honored each player needs to be at least a sophomore, meet participation standards and possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50. The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Arianna Gerig has advanced to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
Arianna Gerig started all 25 games this season and averaged 33.2 minutes, 17.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. She was named 1st Team All-NESCAC her junior and senior seasons. She finished her career as the second all-time leading scorer at Williams with 1,650 points. She holds the Eph single game scoring record tallying 43 points vs. Smith College. Gerig is also a tour guide for the Admissions Office, a peer tutor and a member of the Purple Mountain Partners a student run investment club.
This season senior
Ellie Tounkara started all 24 games and averaged 27.7 minutes, 4.7 points and 2.3 rebounds per game She tied for second on the team with 47 assists and her 32 steals were the second most on the team.
Tounkara a captain in both 2023-24 and 2024-25 is chair of the BSTEM Club (Black Students in Stem+ Majors), a Biochemistry and Chemistry Teaching Assistant, completing an Honors Biology Thesis, Berkshire Bounty Volunteer, Class Marshall, Member of Black Student Union & Sisterhood.
Sophomore
Mairi Smith started all 24 games this season averaging 22.9 minutes, 6.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest. Smith led the Ephs this season in blocks with 36.
In addition, Smith is a Board Member of The Feast which provides an open, welcoming community regardless of faith, race and status, a Williams Christian Fellowship small group leader, Co-founder of the Williams Contra Club, Board Member of the Northern Berkshire Community Dance, and will be a Junior Advisor for the Class of 2029.
