Women's Basketball: Gerig earns D3hoops.com All-Region 1 First Team and WBCA Coaches' All-American Honorable Mention recognition

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - After ranking in the top six in the NESCAC in points (17.4), rebounds (8.4), assists (3.6), steals (2.0) and blocks (1.2) per game during the 2024-25 season, senior captain Arianna Gerig of the Williams College women's basketball team earned D3hoops.com All-Region 1 First Team honors for the second consecutive season, to go along with being named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division III All-American Honorable Mention Team. 

During her senior season, Gerig earned NESCAC All-Conference First Team honors for the second straight year, to go along with being honored on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) All-Region Third Team. She was selected to play in the WBCA Division III Senior All-Star game on Saturday, March 22, at 1 p.m. in the Cregger Center on the campus of Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.

The Westport, Connecticut, native was recognized on the NEWBA First Team of the Week twice and Second Team of the Week on three occasions in 2024-25. On Jan. 6, she was named NESCAC Player of the Week. Gerig ranked first in the conference in free throws made (121) and attempted (158), along with checking in at fifth in free-throw percentage (76.6%) this season.

Gerig excelled in all facets of the game and was the complete package on both ends of the court. The outstanding student-athlete flourished on the offensive side, scoring in double figures 22 times in her final season, including 20 or more points on 10 occasions. She corralled double-digit rebounds nine times and dished out five or more assists seven times. On the defensive end, she posted three or more steals eight times and blocked two or more shots in 10 games.
