WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - A new journey awaits the Williams College women's basketball program.
The Ephs begin their 2025-26 season Friday with a 7 p.m. non-conference game against Skidmore at Chandler Gymnasium.
"We are very excited for our upcoming season," said head coach
Pat Manning. "Our student-athletes have been working extremely hard to prepare for our challenging schedule."
Manning took over the helm of the women's basketball program in 1990 and has accumulated a 573-293 overall record for a .662 winning percentage. The 2012-13 team reached the Final Four of the NCAA Division III Tournament and finished with a 27-6 overall record and a 9-1 mark in the NESCAC. From 2009-15, Williams qualified for the national tournament in 5-of-6 seasons, including the Sweet 16 during the 2009-10 season. During the six-season span, the Ephs posted 19 or more victories during each campaign.
The Ephs, who finished 14-11 last year, compete in 24 regular-season games, with 15 in Chandler Gymnasium and 10 NESCAC contests. Williams hosts the Morin Memorial and Shooting Touch Tournaments in Williamstown, Massachusetts, on Nov. 21-22 and Dec. 5-6, respectively.
The unit competes in non-conference action against visiting and Little Three-rival Wesleyan on Nov. 30 at 3 p.m., and then travels to Middletown, Connecticut, for a 7 p.m. NESCAC game against the Cardinals on Jan. 9. The group hosts Amherst in a non-conference game on Jan. 21 at 7 p.m., and then ends the season with a 3 p.m. game against the Mammoths in Amherst, Massachusetts, on Feb. 14.

Walton was named New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Rookie of the Week on Dec. 3 and Jan. 14. She ranked second on the team in points per game (11.2) and total steals (36), while dropping a career-high 31 points during a 69-64 overtime victory against visiting Wesleyan on Jan. 10. Leuenberger averaged 7.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, while
Mairi Smith scored 5.4 points and grabbed 4.7 rebounds per game.
"Our team chemistry has been fantastic," said Manning. "Logan and Sarah have done a great job helping to get this group ready to go. We are looking forward to some exciting basketball and will strive to work each day to continuously improve throughout the season."
