Atlanta, GA — The Williams Women's Track and Field team capped off their spring break training trip with stellar performances on the final day of competition at the Emory Thrills in the Hills Meet on March 29th. The Ephs posted impressive results across sprint, distance, and field events — including a new 400m school record, multiple personal bests in the 100m dash, and several DIII New England Championship qualifications.
The competition on Saturday began with the field events.
Livi Mazerolle '26 represented Williams in the javelin, earning 16th place with a mark of 21.95m. In the long jump,
Kelsey Tarby '27 had a strong performance, jumping 5.58m to place third and qualify for DIII New Englands.
Mireya King '28 followed with a jump of 5.08m, securing 11th place. The Ephs dominated the pole vault, sweeping the top three spots.
Jae Yu '25 led the way, clearing 3.75m to take first place.
Poppy Miller '25 followed with a personal best mark of 3.60m for second, while
Ellie Fitzgerald '26 placed third with a mark of 3.45m. All three Ephs hit DIII New Englands qualifying marks in the pole vault.
The Ephs kicked off Saturday's running events with the 100m qualifying round, posting several impressive times.
Malia Klein '25 ran a personal best of 12.41 seconds to win the event and qualify for the 100m preliminary round.
Ella Sukup '26 followed closely with a personal best of 12.45 seconds to take third and also qualify for the preliminary round.
Kelsey Tarby '27 finished fourth in a personal best 12.49 seconds, while
Maggie Nichols '28 took 14th with a time of 12.74 seconds. Klein, Sukup, Tarby, and Nichols all qualified for DIII New Englands in the 100m. In the preliminary round that took place later in the day, 100m school record holder
Rachel Arthur '25 placed second with a DIII New Englands qualifying time of 11.91 seconds. Klein matched her earlier time of 12.41 seconds, while Sukup finished in 12.49 seconds.
Success for the Ephs continued in the open 1500m, in which
Uma Champe '28 led the Ephs with a third-place finish in a personal best 5:03.85.
Caitlin Striff-Cave finished 13th in 5:13.03, while
Mariem Sayahi '27 took 18th in 5:17.88.
Ziann Facey '26 and
Olivia LaBelle '28 shined in the 100m hurdles. In the prelims, Facey placed fourth with a time of 15.34 seconds, while LaBelle ran a collegiate best 15.44 seconds for seventh. Both advanced to the finals, where Facey improved to third with a seasonal best 15.29 seconds, while LaBelle finished seventh in 15.52 seconds. Both qualified for DIII New Englands in the 100m hurdles.
The 400m marked a major highlight of the day for the Ephs.
Bella King-Harvey '27, the 400m indoor school record holder, set a new outdoor school record with a personal best time of 55.31 seconds. King-Harvey's time secured her first place in the event and qualifies her for DIII New Englands.
In the 800m,
Annika Paluska '28 ran an outstanding time of 2:11.49 to finish third. This time qualifies Paluska for DIII New Englands and ranks #4 on the Williams All-Time Performance List.
The Ephs ran an impressive 4x100m relay on Saturday, too. The team of
Ella Sukup '26,
Rachel Arthur '25, Bella King Harvey '27, and
Cate Donaldson '27 took second place in a seasonal best time of 47.09 seconds. This time ranks #2 on the Williams All-Time Performance List.
The Emory Thrills in the Hills meet marks the conclusion of another successful spring break training trip. The competition was an amazing showcase of the Ephs' dedication to training, supportive team culture, and athletic talent. The team will now head back to the northeast, preparing for upcoming competitions in April. The majority of the team will travel to the UMass Flagship Invitational on April 12th, while select heptathletes will compete at the RPI Multi competition on April 10th-11th.
