Medford, MA – On Saturday, a select group of Ephs competed at the Tufts Final Qualifier, making their final attempts to secure spots at the Division III National Championships next week. The meet showcased season-best performances, new Williams top-10 marks, and national rankings, setting the stage for an exciting postseason.
In the field events, Rafaela Delgado delivered a standout performance in the triple jump, placing second with a season-best mark of 11.72 meters. This jump ranks among the top six in Williams history. In the high jump, Amelie Jamanka finished fifth, clearing 1.59 meters. After strategically skipping a height, she had strong attempts at 1.65 meters. In the pole vault, the Ephs were represented by Poppy Miller and Jae Yu. Miller finished ninth after clearing 3.38 meters, while Yu soared to third place with a mark of 3.78 meters. This performance places Yu fourth all-time in Williams history and secures her a 19th-place national ranking in Division III heading into championship weekend.
On the track, the women's mile saw four Ephs deliver impressive performances. Kate Tuttle secured first place with a personal-best time of 4:52.94, marking the third-fastest time in Williams history and positioning her as the second-ranked miler in Division III. Nora Johnson, Jordan Liss-Riordan, and Charlene Peng also competed in the event, with Johnson finishing ninth in 5:02.74, Liss-Riordan placing eleventh in 5:03.43, and Peng securing thirteenth in 5:05.14, setting a new personal best.
In the 800 meters, Annika Paluska delivered a strong performance, finishing third with a time of 2:13.04, a result that now ranks her 18th nationally in Division III. Lily Yampolsky followed closely behind, securing fifth place with a time of 2:14.00.
With these strong performances, some Ephs will now shift their focus to the outdoor season, while others have secured their spots at the Division III National Championships, set to take place next weekend in Ithaca, NY.
