Geneva, OH - The Williams Women's Track and Field team kicked off competition at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a series of strong performances, including multiple season bests, a personal record, and national final qualifications.
Livi Mazerolle '26 completed the first day of the heptathlon in 12th place with a total of 2849 points after four events. She opened with a season-best in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking 15.28 seconds to finish 14th and earn 805 points. In the high jump, Livi cleared 1.57 meters to place 10th and add 701 points. She then delivered a standout performance in the shot put, placing 4th with another season-best mark of 11.14 meters (604 points). She closed the day with her third season-best performance, running 26.68 seconds in the 200 meters to finish 17th in that event. With three events remaining—long jump, javelin, and the 800 meters– she will look to carry her momentum into Day 2 of competition.
In the pole vault field, Jae Yu '25 cleared 3.75 meters to finish in 12th place, and Ellie Fitzgerald '26 vaulted 3.85 meters to take 11th overall. With their top-16 finishes, both Yu and Fitzgerald have earned Second-Team All-American honors for their performances.
Charlene Peng '26 delivered one of the day's most exciting performances, placing 3rd in her preliminary heat of the 3000-meter steeplechase with a massive personal best of 10:33.49. Her time was fast enough to automatically qualify for Friday's final, where she will continue her pursuit of an All-American title.
In the 4x400 meter relay, Bella King-Harvey '27, Claire Jensen '27, Annika Paluska '28, and Cate Donaldson '27 secured a spot in Saturday's final, running a strong time of 3:47.71 to place 6th overall in the preliminary round. The team will look to improve on their performance and chase All-American honors in the championship final.
With multiple season-best performances, a personal record, and strong national finishes, the Ephs are off to a promising start in Geneva. Competition resumes Friday with more individual events, the heptathlon conclusion, and opportunities for All-American recognition.
