GLOUCESTER, Mass. - The Williams College men's ice hockey team was recognized for its outstanding work in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year, as 12 Ephs were named to the ninth annual American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA)/Krampade Division II-III All-American Scholar Team.

Jack Sabre '25 earned this honor for the fourth consecutive year, while Nicholas Rashkovsky '25 and Brady Welsch '27 are being recognized for the second time. Owen Stadheim '25, James O'Connor '25, Mason Chen '28, Bobby Corkery '28, Grant Fuchsen '28, Rowan Heithoff '28, Jake McManus '28, Leo Schneeberg '28 and William Yee '28 collected the accolade for the first time this summer.

"Maintaining a minimum of 3.75 GPA for each semester may be one of the most difficult All-American Scholar standards in all of college sports," said head coach Bill Kangas. "I am proud of our student-athletes for all of their academic successes and for balancing their overall Williams' experience. As their coach, I am impressed with how our student-athletes positively impact our campus community, serving as leaders and role models."

To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA or better for each semester during the 2024-25 academic year and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured student-athletes and backup goaltenders. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA.

Fuchsen was named to the NESCAC All-Conference Second Team during his rookie season, as he finished with 10 assists. McManus also impressed during his first year, leading the squad in goals (7), assists (11) and points (18) on his way to being named the conference's Player of the Week on Feb. 3.

During the 2024-25 season, the Ephs swept NESCAC-rivals Tufts University and Connecticut College, earning 11 out of a possible 12 conference points during those four games. Head coach Bill Kangas earned his 450th career win during a 5-4 victory at Plattsburgh State on Jan. 18.
