PINEHURST, N.C. - The Williams College men's golf team earned a 5-3 win in match play over the College of Wooster on Monday at the Talamore Resort in Pinehurst, N.C. on just the team's second day of outdoor play so far this calendar year.
Each team had eight players matching up against one opponent, with scoring focused on winning each hole against their counterpart, rather than focusing on the overall score for the round. The Ephs won four of the eight, Wooster won a pair, and two of the matches ended in a draw.
"All eight played great and showed real grit," said head coach Josh Hillman. "Being only the second day playing outside we played great, and I expect even better golf is ahead of us."
