GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Williams College baseball team prioritized academic success during the 2024-25 academic year, as the Ephs were announced as an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence award winner Wednesday.

"We are proud of our team for not only excelling on the field, but also in the classroom," said head coach Bill Barrale. "This achievement is a testament to the student-athletes' hard work and dedication in all aspects of their lives."

The award recognizes ABCA member teams from all levels of high school and collegiate baseball that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year. The Ephs maintained a 3.43 team GPA during this past school year. The program has now earned the Team Academic Excellence award from the ABCA in back-to-back seasons.

During the 2025 season, the Ephs went 22-15 overall and 7-5 in the NESCAC West Division. Williams swept the best-of-three NESCAC Quarterfinal series against Bowdoin on May 3 and 4, and then finished as the runner-up during the conference championship weekend in Brunswick, Maine. The unit swept West Division-rivals Wesleyan and Hamilton, going a perfect 6-0 against the two teams.

Henry Juan '25 and Ryan Nakajima '27 were named to the D3baseball.com All-Region Second Team, while Owen McHugh '27 cemented a spot on the Third Team. James O'Connor '25, Juan and McHugh garnered ABCA All-Region 1 Third Team laurels, while Peyton Rose '26, Dave Mosrie '26, Nakajima, McHugh and O'Connor were honored with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors. O'Connor, Nakajima, McHugh and Juan collected NESCAC All-Conference First Team laurels, while McHugh was also selected as the conference's Co-Pitcher of the Year.

During a 7-5 win at Wesleyan on April 27 in Middletown, Connecticut, Barrale picked up his 350th career win as a Division III head coach. Two days later, in an 11-3 triumph over MCLA at Bobby Coombs Field in Williamstown, Massachusetts, the outstanding coach earned his 300th victory at Williams.
